 At ABode Manchester we treat all of our guests as individuals; we have a range of facilities catering for people of all abilities. We take equality legislation seriously and endeavor to provide all of our guests with the best possible experience.

Enquiries & Reservations

ABode Manchester has 1 room designed for less able bodied access. This room is situated on the 1st floor and is accessible via the lift on the ground floor. For carers and guests with a disability, this room will always be offered at our lowest available public rate at the time of booking.

Before you arrive

For directions on how to reach us, please click here or call us. Alternatively you can plan your journey by car or public transport using www.transportdirect.info; simply enter your post code and ours which is M1 2DB to get directions.

The nearest railway station is Piccadilly, which is 0.2 Miles from our Hotel (5 minute walk). There is a taxi rank at the station should you require transport or alternatively you can call ahead to the Hotel and we will be happy to order one for you.

The nearest bus stop is across the road from the hotel.. All buses have access for 1 wheelchair user.

The street we are on is full paved and the pavement is wide enough to accommodate several wheelchairs.

This access system is available in larger print on request.

Car parking and arrival

Please be aware we have no on-site parking. Guests are entitled to a reduced rate at Citi Park car park, just one street away:

Guest rate is £10 for 0-24 hours (usually £14) or £20 for up to 48 hours (usually £28).

Please ask a member of our reception team to validate your parking ticket on departure.

The ABode Hotel Manchester does not accept liability for any parking fines incurred during your stay with us.

There are 2 steps leading up to the main entrance and we also have a ramp for ease of access by wheel chair users. Our staff are trained in disability awareness and are available to assist you with any reasonable request. Should you require any assistance with luggage, please contact reception prior to your arrival where a member of staff will be happy to help.

Reception

Our Reception desk is to the right of the main staircase, after entering our main doors. There is seating available for up to 9 people on 3 separate couches. There is room in the seating area for at least 2 wheelchair users. The flooring is short pile carpet throughout the hotel lobby which is level throughout. The areas are lit evenly throughout, although lighting is dimmed in the evening, this can be brightened upon request. Guests can be shown the to their room/restaurants upon request

Public areas

The reception area is carpeted throughout. All the corridors have parquet flooring with some short pile carpet outside the main doors to the rooms. The stairs are wooden and each floor is only accessible using a valid key entry card.

Lounges Bar

Access to the Lounge Bar is via the hotel main reception. The flooring is a mixture of wooden flooring, tile and short pile carpet. Lighting is a mixture of natural daylight with overhead and wall lighting.

Public Toilet

There are public toilets on the basement floor where there is a disabled toilet. This toilet has grab rails and emergency cords with alarm linked to our reception. There are lever taps on the sinks.

Restaurant

Our Restaurant is located on the basement floor and is accessible via the hotel lift or stair case. The flooring is a mixture of wooden floorboard and short pile carpet. There is also a mixture of moveable seating with sofas and soft chairs as well as some chairs with and without arms, together with low coffee tables for pre dinner drinks.

Full waiter service is provided at lunch and dinner.

We are able to cater for varying dietary requirements, please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs.

The menu is printed and can be verbally presented or provided in large print if required. Room service is also available and menus are presented within the rooms.

Bedroom

We have 1 bedroom with has been adapted to assist disabled guests. Access to this bedroom is level throughout and the flooring is short pile carpet in the main bedroom. The entrance door is 90cm wide. The bed is a super king divan which can be split into 2 beds upon request. The bed is 202cm wide when together and 68cm in height and is positioned against the back wall. There is open space on either side with approximately 95cm of space on each side when beds are together. There is also open space at the end of the bed which measures 191cm from the end of the bed to the front of the TV cabinet.

There are 2 bedside tables against the back wall on either side of the bed which are both 56cm in height. There is a bedside lamp on both tables that can be switched on and off via the cord.

The clothes hangers are raised to a height of 155cm. Assistance can be offered with hanging clothes if requested. There is a desk in the room which is 80cm high and will easily fit a wheelchair under. The room is lit by a dimmable lighting rail and bedside lamps. The highest light switch is 132cm off the floor. There are several socket points in the room. The highest is 84cm off the floor. We can provide vibrating pillows for those who request them.

We do not have interconnecting bedrooms but we can allocate rooms close together and each room has a telephone which can be used to call from room to room if required.

Bathrooms

The bathroom is en-suite and entrance door is 81cm wide and 203cm high. There are several support rails in the bathroom the lowest of which is set 83cm off the floor. There are horizontal and vertical support rails to both sides of the toilet and wash basin as well as several horizontal and vertical support rails in and around the bath/shower. The bath/shower is not walk in. A chair can be provided if requested. The bath is 47 cm in height. The hand basin has been lowered to height of 80cm to the top of the tap. The bathroom is brightly lit by overhead spotlights and the floor is tiled. Bathmats are provided in all rooms.

Evacuation

In order to safely evacuate, we will need to conduct a personal emergency evacuation plan on arrival to understand your specific requirements. Should evacuation be necessary, our alarm will sound continuously.
